How Companies Benefit From Electronic Cigarettes

Encouragement can lead a long wayAccording to some statistics, smokers tend to take double the amount of sick days as compared to non-smoking employees.

Government statistics show that smokers get sick more often, have difficulty sleeping and suffer more congestion illnesses and colds as compared to non-smokers.

Smokers pay higher insurance premiums, which in turn increases insurance costs for the employer. If you are a business owner, then for you, sick days equal a loss of productivity, and higher premiums equal more money paid out, which in the end are a loss in profit.

Electronic Cigarettes are a viable and healthier alternative to smoking. They provide smokers a smoke and carcinogen free way of smoking without the need for flame. E-Cigs do not produce any odor, second hand smoke or are nearly as harmful as traditional cigarettes. If you are a business owner, you should have E-Cigs on you radar.

Smoker or not, people get sick, the flu or rundown and need a day or two to recover. The fact of the matter is that unscheduled or extra sick days tend to throw everyone for a loop. They are typically not included in yearly budgets, and so employees are expected to be at work. Sick days equal a loss of company productivity, and over time the costs can be tremendous.

Companies would benefit from Electronic Cigarettes because smokers would live healthier lives. If smokers began smoking E-Cigs instead of traditional cigarettes, they would become healthier and happier people. Healthier employees make for more productive employees, which all leads back to an employer’s bottom line.

IF companies encouraged E-Cigs as an alternative to smoking, it would be a win/win situation for both employer and employee. Smokers would no longer need to take extra smoke breaks during the day, as they could smoke at their desk. They would also use less sick days, and become less distracted when the urge to smoke hits.

Employers would see an increase in revenue as they would be paying out less for health insurance, and productivity would increase as smokers wouldn’t need to take as many sick days.

It’s a fact that most smokers take smoke breaks, and non-smokers do not. Some companies have instituted policies where smokers are not allowed to take unscheduled breaks, but a lot of companies have not for fear of backlash by smoking employees.

No longer would the battle of the breaks have to continue. Non-smokers would no longer feel as though smokers are being given special treatment because they are “addicted.” Overall, company morale would increase and make for a more pleasant and productive work environment.

Companies should really take a good look and Electronic Cigarettes. Instead of encouraging smokers to quit something they enjoy, they should be providing alternatives. It is not fair for companies or business owners to expect smokers to quit something that is a personal choice.

As Electronic Cigarettes are becoming more and more popular for smokers as an alternative, companies need to encourage the users to continue if they want to increase company profit and keep employees happy.

If you are looking for a great E-Cigarette, I would highly recommend the one from Green Smoke. I have written a review about it here.
